President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the U.S. would recognize Israel’s claim to Jerusalem as its capital. The decision was met with global criticism and concern. Since the Trump announcement, close to 20 Palestinian protesters have been wounded during encounters with Israeli forces in the West Bank.

We’ll discuss reaction in the Muslim world with Brian Edwards, Crown professor in Middle East Studies and director of the Middle East and North Africa program at Northwestern University. His newest book is After the American Century: The Ends of U.S. Culture in the Middle East. He’s currently on assignment in Morocco.
