Soundscape ecologist Bryan Pijanowski is on a mission to record the world’s soundscapes. Armed with a user-friendly smart phone app, the Purdue-based scientist is compiling a database of diverse sounds from city streets to deep, dark jungles. He’ll explain how sound can reveal a lot about a place and how human sound is quickly infringing on the world’s natural spaces.
