Will the presence of federal police help local law enforcement reduce violence? Or will it bring instability to Chicago like it did in Portland?

Mayor Lori Lightfoot has asked President Donald Trump to not send federal agents to Chicago, according to a letter obtained by WBEZ. The Department of Homeland Security is reportedly planning to send 150 federal agents to the city this week in a military-style response similar to Portland.
