Heartland Alliance for Human Needs and Human Rights releases their annual report Wednesday on poverty in Illinois. A key data point they discovered is that 33% of Illinoisans are either living in poverty or in danger of falling into poverty. One of the lead researchers on the study, Amy Terpstra, explains why the state’s seeing a bump from past years.
