Illinois State Police revoked more than 11,000 Firearm Owner Identification cards last year, meaning the state found that those 11,000 people should not be able to purchase a gun.

FOID cards can be revoked if gun owners are convicted of a felony, or because they’re addicted to drugs.

But the guns they already have? According to a recent report from the Chicago Tribune, law enforcement doesn’t do much to take those away.
