Chicago’s gun violence has made national headlines off and on over the years even though the city is not the most violent in the nation. What often misses the front page in other cities are the stories of young Chicagoans who struggle with the pull of guns in often dangerous neighborhoods. Last year DNAInfo Reporter at Large Mark Konkol wrote about 18-year-old Quentin Evans. He was hoping to turn his life around after getting into trouble with guns. Konkol revisited that story yesterday, a day after Quentin Evans was charged with murder in the shooting death of Devonshay Lofton —a 16 year old who was part of the Jesse White Tumblers. Mark Konkol and Brother Jim Fogerty join us to talk about the “gun trap” these kids feel they are in. Photo: Flickr/BluEyedA73
