According to a new report in the French newspaper Le Monde, the United States monitored over 70 million French telephone calls and text messages over the course of about a month late last year and early this year. That’s got French officials fuming, but France isn’t the only ally troubled by U.S. surveillance measures. Mexico has demanded an investigation into a different report from German magazine Der Spiegel alleging that the NSA read former Mexican President Felipe Calderon’s emails.
