Vladimir Putin’s administration announced big changes to Russian state-run media this week. The news outlet RIA Novosti and Voice of Russia radio will be overhauled and reorganized under a new organization, Russia Today, to be headed by Dmitry Kiselev. Mr. Kiselev comes with some controversial views; he’s recently drawn attention for remarks he reportedly made which asserted that gays should be banned from donating blood and sperm, and that the heart of any gay person should be burned instead of donated after a car accident.
