Illinois’ stay-at-home order has shown how much of a safety net schools play for some students. It’s the only place some kids get a proper meal or counseling.

In today’s installment of Schools Out, we hear how schools are figuring out how to provide those services at a distance. We hear from families and staff from Glenwood Academy in the south suburbs and from a Chicago high schooler who feels a rush of relief when he gets a call from his mentor from the Becoming A Man program.
