Senator Dianne Feinstein caused a stir last month, when from the Senate floor, she took on the CIA over alleged surveillance of Congress. This week, in her role as head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Feinstein asked President Obama in a letter to reconsider his decision to have the CIA edit a report on it’s interrogation practices before it’s released to the public. “I request that you declassify these documents, and that you do so quickly and with minimal redactions,” she wrote. Reportedly, the document heavily criticizes how the CIA treated 9/11 suspects. We’ll talk with Alfred McCoy, professor of history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He’s researched and written on U.S. torture policy for decades. McCoy’s latest book is Torture and Impunity: The U.S. Doctrine of Coercive Interrogation. (Photo: AP/J. Scott Applewhite, File)
