The first major winter snowstorm of the season hit the Chicago region Monday and continued into Tuesday, with snow totals in some areas reaching nearly 8 inches. The snowfall is expected to continue through the evening, according to the National Weather Service.
WBEZ photographer Manuel Martinez trekked to Chicago’s Far Northwest Side and Evanston to capture images of people of all ages celebrating the winter weather with skiing, sledding and snow angels.
