The Atlanta, Georgia four-piece von Grey is the namesake of sisters Kathryn, Annika, Fiona and Petra. Though the girls range in age from 12 to 17, their sophisticated, beautifully-crafted songs belie their chronological ages.
It’s the band’s first time in Chicago, and they’ll mark it with a pair of shows this weekend (The Abbey on Friday and Uncommon Ground on Saturday).
The girls joined host Tony Sarabia on Eight Forty-Eight to perform songs from their forthcoming EP and to talk about the journey from their early classical training to rocking out across the U.S.They also let us know how family dynamics and being a teen/tween play into the songwriting process.
