After thirteen years, Sears has closed the doors at its downtown location on State Street. This was a second attempt at maintaining a presence in the Loop by the Illinois-based department store chain; the first opened in 1932. Remaining Sears locations in the City of Chicago are on W. Lawrence Ave., W. Irving Park, and N. Harlem Ave.
