Makinde Adedapo grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but he’s connected to a cultural identity that stretches all the way to West Africa. Makinde’s father is a priest in the Yoruba religion, which has its roots in Nigeria. For StoryCorps, Makinde spoke with his father about reclaiming this piece of their heritage.
