To bring attention to what organizers are calling an equality issue, the Kenwood Oakland Community Organization (KOCO) is holding a protest at Chicago Board of Education’s headquarters, followed by a march to City Hall. They claim that the recent school closings have left many low-income children of color with no other choice but to cross gang lines to go to schools, among other grievances.
