Sudanese president Omar al-Bashir says he plans to attend the U.N. General Assembly this week in New York. Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court for genocide in Darfur, and it has issued a warrant for his arrest. The United States says it opposes Bashir attending the meeting, but it has not said whether it can or will block the Sudanese leader.
