Survival International’s 2016 ‘Racist of the Year’ Award

Survival International is an NGO dedicated to protecting the lives and lands of indigenous people around the globe. Last week, it announced four nominees for its annual “Racist of the Year” award. It’s given to “the person displaying the greatest prejudice against tribal peoples.”

This year’s entries range from politicians to cartoonists. Lewis Evans, campaigner for Survival International, tells us why his group feels the views of the nominees would “not have been out of place in the colonial era.”
