For the past four years, the journalism-based production company Invisible Institute, along with the University of Chicago’s Mandel Legal Aid clinic, have been tracking the everyday encounters between African-American youth on the city’s South Side and police. This past Friday and Saturday, the University of Chicago played host to the Youth/Police Conference. It was a chance to share findings, stories, perspectives, and ideas. WBEZ producer Kathy Chaney was there for parts of both days and she tells us what she learned. (University of Chicago)
