The women’s shelter Clara’s Place went about two weeks without heat or hot water due to unpaid gas bills until an anonymous donor paid the more than $30,000 that the shelter owed People’s Gas. While many are celebrating the generosity, the incident is just one in a long list of struggles that women’s shelters face everyday.
