The countdown to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro has begun.

The opening ceremony is on Friday.

Here in the newsroom, one thing we’ll be listening for is the music of the games. And seeing as the games are in Brazil, there are a few songs you should expect to hear. Like this one:

“Girl from Ipanema” — Astrud Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Stan Getz

“The Girl from Ipanema” came out in the mid 1960s, and has since become one of the most recorded songs in history.

You also might hear this one:

“Mas Que Nada” — Sergio Mendes

But there are also plenty of songs that go beyond the clichés.
