If you’re new to the Freddy Jones Band, you’re late to the party. But hey, better late than never. They recorded their first record back in 1992 and, after taking a few years off in the early aughts, have been back in business since ‘05. Their sound is steeped in jam music, Americana and early 90’s alt-rock. The band is playing the StreetWise Celebration Gala on Thursday, September 18, at 1st Ward but Morning Shift gets a stripped-down, acoustic preview with the Freddy Jones Band’s Marty Lloyd.
