It’s February in Chicago, but with temperatures in the mid-40s, it feels more like late March. In a few years, that lakefront could look very different.

A plan is in the works to divide the lakefront path for bikers and pedestrians and the Navy Pier flyover is making it possible for cyclists to avoid doglegging down to Lower Wacker Drive north of the Loop. Meanwhile, proposed projects on the far South Side and near North Side near Oak Street beach could radically alter portions of the lakefront in the coming years. Morning Shift talks with Chicago Tribune architecture critic about potential changes to Chicago’s lakefront and takes calls from listeners with what they’d like to see.
