But first, some news:

September 10. That’s the date the Chicago Teachers Union says it will walk out on strike unless teachers have a contract agreement.

The Chicago Bears will see some unfamiliar faces on the field when the season starts Sunday September 9th. That’s becasue the labor strife between the National Football League and its referees will continue into the regular season.

Thousands of steelworkers in Northwest Indiana are set to go on strike if a new contract cannot be worked out with two major steel producers.

And your WEATHER for today: Mostly sunny until late afternoon then becoming partly cloudy, hot, highs in the lower to mid 90s. Tonight, partly cloudy, lows around 70s.

Saturday, mostly cloudy, chance of showers in the morning, then a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon - highs in the upper 70s. Some winds, chance of precipitation 50 percent. Saturday night, cloudy, showers likely in the evening, then a chance of showers after midnight - lows around 70. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Then Sunday, mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers - possibly from Hurricane Isaac coming our way - highs in the lower 80s. Sunday night, mostly cloudy, lows in the lower 70s.

And your Labor Day forecast, looks pretty good so far! Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of shower and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s.
