What is the one film that you think “made” you?
For our summer series “The Movie That Made Me,” a notable Chicagoan comes on and talks about the film that had the biggest impact on their life. And so far we’ve heard from writers and comedians, radio personalities and movie nerds about the films that stuck with them. To talk about the movie that made him, author and activist Christian Picciolini. He’s the head of the Free Radicals Project, a non-profit that fights extremism around the world. His 2017 memoir is called White American Youth: My Descent Into America’s Most Violent Hate Group — And How I Got Out.
And the movie that made him ties in to his life’s journey from spreading hate to bringing about peace.
