On Saturday, President Obama announced that he would seek approval from Congress about whether carry out a military strike on Syria for its alleged use of chemical weapons. While some lawmakers support a strike, others remain skeptical, and some say that the language in the proposed bill is too broad. John Mearsheimer co-directs the University of Chicago’s Program on International Security Policy and is the university’s R. Wendell Harrison Distinguished Service Professor.
