Next week, President Barack Obama will present to Congress his blueprint for closing the Guantanamo Bay military prison. Congress mandated that the President present a plan by February 23, 2016. President Obama’s strategy is expected to outline how the prisoners would be detained in three U.S. States. The plans come as pretrial hearings are expected to commence at the Guantanamo prison for five detainees accused of helping plot the 9/11 terrorist attacks. We take a look at what is likely to happen at GITMO with Marc Falkoff. He’s associate professor of law at Northern Illinois University. Falkoff has represented numerous Guantanamo prisoners. He’s also editor of the book, ‘Poems from Guantanamo: The Detainees Speak’.
