A recent report from the UK-based Overseas Development Institute (ODI) indicates that over the last two decades, the price of fresh produce has risen, while costs for highly processed foods have dropped in Brazil, China, Korea and Mexico. Public health analysts worry this will lead consumers to purchase more processed foods, already linked to poor health, instead of fruits and vegetables.
