It’s Cyber Monday but holiday shoppers didn’t wait for today to go online to find deals. This year was another boon for online retailing on Black Friday. But it didn’t spell doom-and-gloom for mortar stores, according to a data analytics company. Even so, foot traffic continues to decline as more and more shoppers opt for the comfort of their homes and the chance to avoid the in-store crowds. Morning Shift talks to Crain’s Chicago Business reporter Brigid Sweeney about the state of Chicago retail this holiday season; from hiring to the bottom line.
