Kathryn Bolkovac is the author of The Whistleblower: Sex Trafficking, Military Contractors and One Woman’s Fight for Justice. Her book is based on her experiences serving as a U.N. monitor in Bosnia. She discovered a web of prostitution and sex trafficking among the U.N. police officers, many of whom were Americans. When she reported what she discovered, she was fired. Bolkovac tells Worldview what happened and explains why she’s made it her life’s work to make sure this sort of cover-up does not happen again.
