Donate at A Night for Ashley — Pizza and Beer Fundraiser at Letizia’s Fiore. MANA Food Bar line cook Ashley Pruneau was attacked in her home by an unknown male with a hammer. “100 percent [goes] to Ashley’s fund for her recovery, medical bills etc. Letizia’s Fiore will provide wood-fired pizzas, beer, and vino for all attendees. Silent auction and more.” Former co-workers set up this fundraising night, while current co-workers have set up this fundraising page. Admission $15 suggested donation.

Twirl The Early History of Pasta: Post-Modern Myth and Medieval Reality at Kendall Collage, hosted by the Chicago Foodways Roundtable. “In this talk, Anthony F. Buccini [aka LTHForum.com‘s esteemed Antonius] demonstrates that the interpretation of the evidence has been superficial and gravely flawed, and he proposes an account of the late medieval diffusion of pasta based on a new interpretation of the textual and linguistic evidence in full harmony with the broader socio-economic history of the medieval western Mediterranean.” This event will be recorded for WBEZ’s Chicago Amplified.
