Thousands Of CPS Elementary Students Return To In-Person Learning

Elementary students reported back to the classroom Monday for the first time since the district shut down in-person learning last March.

Chicago Public Schools welcomed back about 37,000 elementary students Monday. But only about 30 percent of eligible students opted in for a mix of in-person and remote learning, while the rest are staying fully remote.

Reset checks in with WBEZ’s Sarah Karp for the latest and what to expect as the district plans to bring back middle school and high school students.
