By Steve DolinskyAlthough Valentines day is coming up this weekend, Feb. 14th is also Chinese New Year. On Friday, Feb. 12, Ben Pao will host their annual Chinese Lion Dance to celebrate the year of the tiger. The evening will begin with a mini fireworks show followed by the Lion Dance. Diners can interact with the lion and order the Year of the Tiger a la carte menu which includes traditional Chinese dishes such as:
- Whole Crispy Red Snapper
- Jaoizi Dumplings
- Golden Coin Turnovers
- Long Life Noodles
Also on Friday, D.O.C. Wine Bar in Lincoln Park will offer their “Millionaire’s Flight” to showcase Shiraz and Hermitage wines which are normally only offered by the bottle. The wines to be showcased this Friday include:
- 2008 Thorn Clarke “Shotfire”‚ Shiraz (Barossa Valley, Australia)
- 2002 Domaine Clusel-Roch Cote Rotie (Vernay, France)
- 1998 Ferraton Pere & Fils “Les Dionnieres”‚ Hermitage (Rhone Valley, France)
These Millionaire Flights are offered every Friday from 5 p.m. — 2 a.m. and cost $25. Reservations are not required but can be made by calling 773-883-5101.
