Between Cubs games, river boat tours, and securing a spot for an afternoon at the Beach, there’s never a dull moment when it’s summer time in Chicago. Even the insides of museums remain packed with tourists. But if you happen to be walking along Michigan Ave. and Monroe this Saturday and overhear someone explaining Henry McCormick’s sexual past or the first issue of Playboy, that person is probably Crain’s Chicago Business Housing reporter Dennis Rodkin. And, he’s likely taking a group of history enthusiasts on his Sexual History of Chicago Tour. It’s a two-hour long walking tour that weaves around Chicago’s historic loop, exploring the nooks and crannies of 150 years of Chicago’s identity through a lens of sexuality. He joins us to talk about the tour and why, even though it sounds explicit, it’s really no reason to go running for a bar of soap. (flickr/Chicago Man)
