During the presidential campaign, then-candidate Donald Trump campaigned heavily on the issue of trade, promising to scrap the NAFTA trade deal and bring back American jobs.

But this week, following phone calls with Canada and Mexico, the White House said Trump does not intend to withdraw from the trade agreement, at least not “at this time.”
