The new play Wrecked is about Kuol, a Chicago Uber driver from South Sudan. He was a “Lost Boy”, one of thousands of boys displaced during Sudan’s over 20-year civil war that ended in 2005.
The show follows Kuol as he struggles against haunting memories to maintain his family on a meager living.
Wrecked is produced by the Chicago-based African Theater Ensemble Fehinty (FATE) and runs May 19-28 at the Prop Thtr at 3502 N. Elston Ave. We talk to playwright and director Philister Sidigu as well as actors Olateju Adesida, Odion Okojie and Obi Uwakwe.
