The holy month of Ramadan - considered the holiest month of the year in the Islam faith - started at sundown on Wednesday. While non-Muslims connect the tradition of fasting with the holiday, sometimes there can be misconceptions of why that practice exists, and what greater role it plays in understanding one’s faith. Marwa Abdelghani is a fellow with the Muslim Public Affairs Council and she recently wrote an article about the things she wishes everyone knew about Ramadan. Abdelghani breaks down the list.
