Uganda’s President pushes for HIV awareness
Last Friday the president of Uganda got tested publicly for HIV. The move was meant to encourage millions of untested people to check their status. Uganda was once a leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS, but the country has seen an increase in HIV rates in the last few years. Stephen Lewis, co-director of AIDS-Free World and former UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa, explains why.
