The UN says about 20,000 homes were destroyed or severely damaged during the recent Gaza war. On a recent visit to Gaza, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the destruction was “beyond description” and he urged quick reconstruction. He also called on the Israelis and Palestinians to get back to negotiations.
