The Chicago Board of Education held a special meeting on Tuesday, June 15, to approve a 4 percent pay raise for union teachers. The board also voted and unanimously approved a measure granting Chicago Public Schools CEO Ron Huberman the authority to lay off teachers and increase class sizes, and it voted to give CPS $800 million.
