A level 1 trauma center may finally be coming to the South Side. Last month, activists staged die-ins in protest of the University of Chicago’s proposal for the Obama Presidential Library, saying “No trauma, no ‘bama.” Now the university is heeding their calls. University of Chicago Medicine has launched a study to see what it needs to create a Level 1 trauma center at its Hyde Park facility. Kristen Schorsch of Crain’s Chicago Business has more details.
