Last week, President Obama announced his strategy for combating ISIS. It includes airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, as well as increased humanitarian aid to Syria. The United States will provide nearly $500 million in additional aid. According to the State Department, “This is the largest funding announcement made by the United States in response to the largest appeal the United Nations has ever issued. “We’ll take a look at the aid package and discuss the policy with Anne Richard, assistant secretary for Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration at the U.S. Department of State.
