Polio has been eradicated in most of the world but Pakistan hasn’t been able to get rid of the disease. The numbers were in decline until the Taliban issued a ban on polio vaccinations. Soon, fatal attacks ensued against vaccine and health workers. Every Last Child is a documentary about some of the people affected by Pakistan’s polio crisis. The film’s director, Tom Roberts, and infectious disease specialist and Pakistani-American physician, Aisha Sethi join us to discuss the film and the polio epidemic in Pakistan.
