Venezuelans go to the polls on Sunday to vote in parliamentary elections. Polling data and news reports indicate that the political party of late President Hugo Chavez, currently led by his successor, Nicolas Maduro, could lose control of the country’s National Assembly. He’s also professor of Sociology at Tulane University and co-authored the edited volume, ‘Venezuela’s Bolivarian Democracy: Participation, Politics and Culture under Chávez’.
