Chicago lost its bid to host this summer’s Olympic games to Rio de Janeiro. The city’s Washington Park neighborhood would’ve been one of the sites hosting several events, but some who live in the area have mixed feelings about not having the international event in their backyard. Those not upset about missing out on the games say the city isn’t ready to host such a large spectacle, pointing to current crime problems.
