On today’s Weekend Passport , we’re joined by Nate Santana, stage director of “American Jornalero” , and Ramón Camín, an actor who plays “Michigan” (proper name, not the state) in “American Jornalero”. Teatro Vista , or “Theatre with a View”, is a premier Chicago theater company that highlights the Latinx experience. Teatro Vista’s new production of “American Jornalero” is about the plight of urban day laborers amidst the simmering America First movement. “American Jornalero” is showing through November 18 at the Urban Theater.
We are also joined by Ahmed Omar, he is president of the Muslim American Leadership Alliance (MALA). Omar joins us to discuss the upcoming MALA Gala , on Tuesday November 6 at 6:00 pm at the Chicago History Museum. As always, our global citizen, Nari Safavi will also join us to give you a couple events to help you plan your international weekend!
