Poland’s multicultural past is on full display in Chicago a cappella’s upcoming performance, “Polish Splendor: Songs and Traditions from the Crossroads of Europe.” The show takes listeners on a tour of Polish musical traditions, from traditional folk songs to music by Jewish songwriters of the 1930s kabaret scene and new works by some of today’s most renowned composers. Our global citizen, Nari Safavi, joins us on Weekend Passport to chat about the show with Chicago a cappella’s founder and artistic director, Jonathan Miller. We’ll also hear from a debut filmmaker whose new documentary Among Wolves is premiering tomorrow at The Music Box.
