After spending 12 years as an architect, Rodrigo de la Sierra decided to invest his knowledge of structures and designs into art. The Mexican sculptor created ‘Timoteo,’ better known as ‘Timo,’a child-like figure of a man who’s depicted in symbolic structures that represent world issues, the human spirit, and resilience.

The Timoteo and His World exhibition is renowned for attracting people of all ages to engage in dialogue. One of the exhibition’s curators, Sergio Gomez, says many families come to the show because it fosters thoughtful conversations between children and their parents about topics such as materialism, depression and ego. De La Sierra’s art has been showcased in many different countries, and is displayed in exhibits throughout Mexico. He’ll be joined by Sergio Gomez to discuss the inspiration behind the Timo sculptures.
