Each week global citizen Nari Safavi joins us to help listeners plan their international weekend. This week he’ll offer his picks and we’ll take a look at a bill that was introduced in the Senate this week which would make the visa process for international artists and performers more reliable and affordable. The process can often be a lengthy one, and on more than one occasion, concerts or exhibitions have been cancelled because the artist did not receive their visa on time. We’ll talk about the legislation with Heather Noonan, vice president for advocacy for the League of American Orchestras. She represents a coalition of more than 80 national arts organizations advocating for the legislation.
