For the last 33 years, the Printers’ Row Lit Fest has attracted world-class authors to the namesake South Side Chicago neighborhood.

On this week’s Weekend Passport with global citizen Nari Safavi, we speak with Thrity Umrigar about her book Everybody’s Son, a story about race, politics and upbringing. Umirgar, who grew up in India and moved to Ohio when she was 21, credits her own immigrant experience as the inspiration for this book.
