Each year, a suburban Chicago organization called the New Trier Multifaith Alliance examines what a variety of sacred texts say about a given topic.

This year their focus is refugees and immigration. Their upcoming panel discussion is called “Welcoming the Stranger: What Do Sacred Texts Teach?”

Several participants from the program join us to discuss the gap between what their traditions call for and today’s politics as they relate to immigration policy. Greg Richards is a member of the New Trier Interfaith Understanding Committee, Suzanne Akhras Sahloul is president and executive director of the Syrian Community Network, and Camille Khodadad is gender equality advocate, columnist and principal attorney for the firm Much Shelist P.C.

Worldview host Jerome McDonnell will be moderating the panel on this subject this Thursday.
